Perhaps the most popular essential oil. Its basic action is the balancing of body functions and emotions. It is used with great results in massage and aromatic baths. A few drops in the bathroom or a couple of drops on the pillow can help fight insomnia. Lavender is also useful in treating flu and cold. It works not only against viruses that cause infection but relieves many of the symptoms. A cold lavender compress or a couple of drops on the temples relieves the headaches. Finally, lavender essential oil can be used in antiseptic solutions for small injuries and burns.
